Town houses

The terms “townhouse,” “row house” and “brownstone” refer to the same style of housing. They are houses built in a row with shared sidewalls. For convenience, we use the term townhouse to refer to single-family buildings, and row house condominium to refer to multifamily housing. Most of the discussion will focus on row house condominiums because of added complexity of stacking living units to minimize sound transmission.
