Remodeling projects can easily turn into money pits and headaches. Old houses more often than not have uneven floors, leaning walls, drafty windows and doors, outdated electrical systems, worn out plumbing and decaying structural components. Cosmetic remodeling is quick, but rarely solves the underlying problems. As unpleasant as it sounds, gutting an old house is the most efficient method for obtaining a quality product.
